Olympics: My Favourite Part 1

(This post mostly for own memory keeping purposes. And NOT for non Olympic watchers)

Hadn't been blogging much because... OLYMPIC IS HERE.

THE OLYMPICS ARE HERE!!!! (runs around like crazy)

I know not everyone watch Olympics. I have a feeling that the only time that most Malaysians watch Olympics is when our Dato' Lee Chong Wei is playing. But NOT ME! I've been watching Olympics since the opening ceremony. Day and night, night and day watching Olympics.

@.@ Me the Crazy Olympic Watcher. Luckily I'm not fat and a couch potato (soon to be) or else I'll be the new meme Scumbag Fat Girl.

Like most people, I like Olympics because of it's spirit. The ability to unite everyone from the whole world and in a smaller scale, unite Malaysians. Olympics is a time where people scream and cheer together.

What the heck while I was typing that out I feel so fake hahaha. Textbook answer much? I usually scoff when people write those kind of stuff and can't believe I wrote that out T.T

What I like about the Olympics is its HUGE variety of sports. Usually world competitions have only one sport, like World Cup is only for football. But Olympics have EVERYTHING. Athletics, gymnastics, polo, canoe shalom (Bet most people don't know what this is), swimming, water polo, basketball, football etc etc etc. There are even events like BMX cycling, trampoline, things I don't really consider worthy of the Olympics but hey, who am I to say what's a sport and what's not?

And don't bother denying it, people watch the Olympics for its huge amount of hot guys and girls. You want pretty boys? Check out Ryohei Kato.

Look at her... I mean his delicate features =Q Not even girls have such delicate features...

You are a paedophile? Check out the women artistic gymnastic event (Just joking just joking).

Like women with ridiculously thick make up they look like they clowns? Synchronised symming.

I like sports that Malaysian TV don't usually feature so during Olympics I try to watch as many 'exotic' sports as possible.

Other than liking the sports, I am also partial towards certain people in certain sports. And herein begins the list of people that I enjoyed watching for the 1st week of the Olympics.

(Oh and this post is also another example of how ugly passport photos turn out. A mystery of the universe... Why passport photos never turn out nice huh?)

1. Uchimura Kohei

UCHIMURA Kohei
Bleh photo doesn't do him justice here.

Damn he's cute.

Erm I mean damn he's talented *cough cough*

Artistic gymnastic men all around gold medal winner. That is something isn't it? Really enjoyed watching his performances during the all around finals. I've heard other people going crazy over other gymnast like Marcel Nguyen but... Dunno la not my type haha.

2. Team US Artistic Gymnastic (F)

Hi-res-149583079_crop_650x440

Also known as the Fab 5!

Jordyn Wieber, Gabrielle Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Kyla Ross

(and all younger than me huhu I feel so old)

But they really do live up to their name: Fabulous. Their performances are extraordinary! When they are in the mood that is.

DOUGLAS Gabrielle

Gabrielle Douglas (randomly choose her pic out of the five) gave her all for team and all around finals and won gold for both but for her individual events (beam and uneven bars) she failed miserably =S

Still... These five are super duper amazing. Especially their VAULTING. Their VAULTING. Especially Maroney's vaulting. Even the judges stared open mouthedly at her landing (Pictures somewhere in 9gag but can't find it).

Not only they got the Team Finals Gold, Gaby got individual all around gold, Aly Raisman gold in floor and bronze on the balance beam, McKayla silver in vault (seriously unlucky day for her). Go Team US!

(psst: when I have kids I'm so gonna make them learn artistic gymnastic. And make sure they train to a level where they can represent Malaysia in the Olympics muahahahaha. I'm not joking)

3. Larisa Iordache

IORDACHE Larisa Andreea
Another typical passport photo T.T

You can totally feel her charisma here =)

Romanian gymnast.

Totally love her face. So cute. Born in 1996 =Q

Born in 1996, joined the Olympics.

Me? Born in 1991, did nothing in life. Sigh.

4. Lauren Mitchell

MITCHELL Lauren
Why you look so old here! Like mug shot somemore >.<

Australian gymnast.

My first love in the the 2012 Olympics hahaha.

Too bad she didn't earn any medals. Didn't even qualify for any finals except for floor. But I heard she has some injury so hopefully she recovers in time for future World Championships (which they don't show on Malaysian TV WHYYYYYYYY?) and Rio Olympics.

5. Jessica Ennis

For those who have made it this far (XD) without giving up and still understanding what I'm saying, I guess you'll be pretty relieved that I finally added someone those gymnastic related to my list: The British heptathlete.

ENNIS Jessica
Another sleepyhead athlete photo o.O

The main reason I find her really hot: Her 6 packs. HER SIX PACKS. I want them too =O

And another thing, I have a thing for all rounders. Have you noticed it yet? The two artistic gymnastic individual all around gold medalist are in my list and now, the multi-event gold medalist athlete.

More lists to come (But I think at best only one other list because I'm a super lazy blogger)

But first! More events to watch! Half a week of Olympics left to go!

How I became a barista and how it's like working as one.

It surprises me that people still don't know what does 'barista' means. Barista is defined as ' a person whose job involves preparing and serving different types of coffee'. I was working as one for 5 months and basically, I make coffee and serve it to customers. It's my longest job to date, providing me something legal to do and earning some pocket money during my wait (still waiting for at time of writing. 9 months and counting.) (I'm putting the word 'legal' in because I'm still feeling a bit bitter about the fact that some of my friends actually took the opportunity to do illegal locum. Hey ho, that's people to you.) After my final professional examination (which was in August 2015), I told myself to enjoy my holidays but as usual, I got bored and restless and found myself a job as a research assistant. But it wasn't a satisfying job because: 1. I have to travel all the way to PJ on weekdays. 2. Get stuck in the jam for a total

SOULed OUT

I'm gonna talk about FOOD again! My favourite blogging topic muahahaha. I have other passions too but there are all pretty... Scientific? Haha they will bore you to death. So yea, food is the best topic to blog about =) Especially here in Malaysia food connects us all. I've only met a person who doesn't enjoy eating (WHY!?). She is weird (You know who you are haha) First, a HUGE cup of coffee to awaken your senses. My daddy always order a kopi O whenever possible. I think he fancies himself as a Kopi O connoisseur haha =3 But I keep my distance from coffee. Coffee makes me jittery and anxious. Even drinking tea makes my heart go on overdrive grr. Mummy has been wanting to visit SOULed OUT since awhile ago but we just didn't get around to visiting the place, until today. SOULed OUT has two branches but we went to the one in Sri Hartamas. Took us quite some time (and a lot of help from iPhone's Maps application) but we manage to find the place. The location

Cool air

Because nothing beats naturally cool weather =) Was up in Cameron Highlands last weekend. And on the way up we realised: My bro has car sickness. That aside, it was a very uneventful trip. My dad thought me something too! Have you ever seen step-like slopes along the roads that are cut out from the mountains? Those are known as... Ba... Err, I forgot. But you know what it is. Apparently according to Malaysian regulations, they must not be more than 6 per slope and each step must not be more than 6 meters high. But that's not the case for most of the slopes. Please, those slopes are SO high you cannot possibly limit the steps to only 6! So, like most Malaysian rules, it can be altered to suit the case. You know, altered. Anyway, engineering is fascinating =) Especially about airports! And my dad loves them too. I suspect I'm very much like my dad. When he loves something he will babble on and on and on about it, usually to a person who will not be listening to him at all. Ki
